Game 3 - Rosehaven at Carolina Carolina's ace developed a blister in the 4th inning and couldn't go on. While the Hurricane relief staff did well, Raffy Palmiero homered in the 6th off Blake Stein and Mike Piazza homered in the 8th off Ricky Rincon. Hideo Nomo pitched 7 shutout innings, twice getting Paul Konerko with two runners in scoring position. Jason Isringhausen finished it with two hitless innings.

Game 4 - Rosehaven at Carolina Rosehaven's 20 game winner couldn't hold a 5 run lead bestowed to him in the 1st inning. In the 7th, Terry Adams allowed a single to Konerko following two walks and the Hurricanes led 7-6. Game 6 - Carolina at Rosehaven Hideo Nomo was the hot hand and the MVP for the River Dogs, combining on his second shutout and defeating Carolina' s ace Mark Buerhle. Buerhle gave up solo shots to Sammy Sosa in the second and MVP runner up Raffy Palmiero in the 4th (another worthy MVP candidate with 5 HRs and 9 RBIs). Scott Rolen's two run single in the 6th put the game out of reach as Carolina could only manage 6 singles

Game 1 - Hub City at Portland Jeff Weaver (14-13) vs Matt Morris (17-9) Jose Valentin's three run homer in the 6th was the key blow, as Matt Morris combined with three relievers on a 5 hitter. Morris got a little sloppy in the 7th, allowing a run and then hitting consecutive batters, but the bullpen retired 7 in a row to end the game.

Game 2 - Hub City at Portland Jose Cruz spotted the Rockers off to an early lead, connecting twice to give them a 4-0 lead. But the Crush came back. Leading 6-2 in the 7th, the Rockers chose to walk Moises Alou with a base open and one out. The strategy backfired when Scott Brosius singled home two, and by the end of the inning it was 6-5. It wasn't enough for Roberto Hernandez to hold, as Garrett Anderson's solo homer in the 9th tied it up. In the 11th, Alou wasn't walked with a base open, and he delivered the game winning single.

Game 4 - Portland at Hub City Maggio Ordonez started the scoring with a two run shot in the first inning and it would be all that rookie first round pick C.C. Sabathia would need. Portland was limited to six singles, the last of which came leading off the 4th inning. Joe McEwing singled in the 7th for an insurance run and an errant throw brought home the fourth run.

Game 5 - Portland at Hub City Portland wound up a miserable road trip to Hub City as they wound up scoring two runs in three games. The Crush couldn't get a runner past second base until the 7th inning, when Ray King came on with the bases loaded to retire pinchhitter Scott Brosius. By then the Rockers had scored three, the final two having come on a two out double by Chad Kreuter followed by a single by pitcher Jeff Weaver.

Game 6 - Hub City at Portland Joe McEwing filled in at 1b for the injured Doug Mientkiewicz and delivered two run scoring singles, staking the Rockers to a 4-2 lead in the 7th. But the Crush, sensing elimination, rallied against starter Mike Mulder. Jolbert Cabrera and Garrett Anderson stroked RBI singles with two outs in the 7th to tie, and Carl Everett hit a clutch 3RHR in the bottom of the 8th off Pat Rapp for the gamewinner.

Game 7 - Hub City at Portland Rick Reed failed in game 7, falling behind on Jose Cruz's 3RHR after just 3 batters. Mark McLemore tripled in another in the 2nd and scored on a sac fly to make it 5-0. The Crush got back to 6-3 in the 5th but McLemore immediately homered in the 6th to restore a 4 run cushion. After that the Crush couldn't generate much offense afterwards. Both Fehr Division playoff series go to teams that came back from two game deficits. The MVP goes to Suppan with his two wins, but Mark McLemore in 16 PA hit .500 with a 1.542 O+S, scored 6 runs and stole 2 bases.
