Game 6 - Dresden at Antioch In a game which will go down in IIBL history, Russ Ortiz no-hit Dresden as Antioch advanced to the World Series for the second consecutive year. Shawn Chacon also pitched no-hit ball over his start, but left after 83 pitches over 5 innings. Chacon stranded the bases loaded in the first and was helped by 2 DPs later. With two outs in the sixth, doubles by A-Rod and Paquette would be the only hits of the game. Larry Walker led off the seventh with a walk, but Ortiz picked him off (he wasn't trying to steal, BTW). Carlos Pena pinch hit a walk in the 9th, but Ortiz got Biggio and Lofton on strikes, and got Walker to end the game.

But the Blacks were let down by their defense, allowing 10 unearned runs in the series. The Blacks finished second in the conference to South Texas during the season in fielding percentage. |
