Game 1 - Hollywood at
Nashua Greg Maddux (16-8) vs Curt Schilling (24-5) Former Noname Ellis Burks hit a grand slam against Tim Spooneybarger in the 13th inning. Nashua rallied to tie from 3 down in the 6th and again scored in the 8th to tie. Carlos Baerga stole three bases, including 2nd and 3rd in the decisive 13th.

Game 2 -
Hollywood at Nashua Jim Thome homered with one on and no outs in the tenth and the series was evened at 1-1. Hollywood had taken a 2-0 lead on Austin Kearns' homer in the 6th, but Miguel Batista, pressed into service because of a 1st inning sore arm of Ismael Valdez, couldn't hold it. Pedro Martinez scattered four hits in 7 innings.

Game 3 - Nashua at Hollywood Ismael Valdes tried to come back on a days rest after leaving game two after only six pitches, but he wasn't the answer. He left in the fourth tied 4-4 having given up 7 hits and 4 walks and left the bases loaded. Hasegawa then gave up the key hit: a bases clearing double to Jeff Kent. Hollywood couldn't recover from there, although gathering 14 hits and leaving 10 on base.

Game 4 -
Nashua at Hollywood Nashua made the most of four hits, three doubles and a solo homer. Nashua was done hitting after 3 innings, holding a 5-0 lead. Hollywood squandered opportunity in the middle innings, but was unable to get closer than 5-2 and fell behind 3 games to 1.

Game 5 -
Nashua at Hollywood Benito Santiago broke a 1-1 tie in the 6th inning with a single, and Curt Schilling followed with a run scoring grounder. Hollywood got one back in the bottom of the inning on three singles, but Torii Hunter killed the rally by grounding into a double play. Schilling left after the first two reached in the 7th, but the relief came in to get nine straight outs to clinch the series 4 games to 1. MVP - Jim Thome, two homers including the game winner in game 2.

Game 1 - Pocono Pines
at Sycamore Mike Mussina (18-4) vs Barry Zito (19-2) Mike Mussina gave up double, RBI single, walk, walk, but then settled down to outpitch Barry Zito. However, Zito got the outs when it counted, and Pocono got picked off and caught stealing, as Zito combined with two relievers on the shutout.

Game 2 - Pocono Pines
at Sycamore Burnett, an odd choice for game two, proved his worth by scattering three hits over seven innings. Albert Pujols provided as much offense as needed, driving in two runs on a first inning double. That proved to be enough.

Sycamore at Pocono Pines Pocono took their only lead in the series in the 4th, but were tied in the sixth on a manufactured run. Before the inning was out, Pujols homered to make it 2-1. Jose Vidro tripled in two runs in the 7th and the rest was perfunctory.

Sycamore at Pocono Pines Back to back homers by Pujols and Burrell in the fifth opened a 3-0 lead, and by the time the inning was over the score was 5-0 and the series was swept. The MVP went to Pujols, who went 7-13 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs, including the key ones. Sycamore pitching allowed only 3 runs in 4 games, an all time record.
