Game 7 - Sycamore at Antioch
Roy Halladay vs Roger Clemens

Classic game seven saw Roger Clemens and Antioch toss a no hitter until the sixth, then blow a 2-0 lead in the seventh, and finally come back in the 8th to win and defeat the defending champions. Antioch advanced to their 3rd World Series in 4 years. Sycamore trailed 2-0 in the seventh when Bonds walked, Giles singled, and Delgado doubled to narrow the lead to 2-1. After a bit of cat and mouse, Michael Ryan's groundout tied it. After Koskie struck out Antioch walked Valentin to get to Eric Gagne. Sycamore pinchhit, but Aaron Rowand struck out.

Octavio Dotel survived a shaky seventh, but got Podsednik to end the inning. But Antioch wasn't going to be denied in the 8th. A-Rod doubled with one out and after an intentional walk to Helton, Payton's infield hit loaded the bases. Jerry DaVanon lofted a sacrifice fly to center to give the Wizards a 3-2 lead and the series win.

Leadoff hitter Scott Podsednik went 0-27 for the series.

In the 9th Palmiero was thrown out at the plate on Rolen's single, and the River Dogs threatened in the tenth putting two runners on with one out. But Rio Salado came through when Carl Crawford tripled home Santiago off Steve Sparks with two outs in the 11th , and scored on Chone Figgins' single.

Ichiro's double featured in the middle of the rally, but an error and a wild pitch also contributed.  Zambrano didn't pitch well, but got Ohka with the bases loaded in the 2nd, 3 outs with two on in the 3rd, and Edmonds with the bases loaded in the 4th. Stairs struck out with the bases loaded in the 6th, but by then it was 7-2. By the time Rosehaven finally broke through, it was the ninth inning, and Piazza and Rolen homered in a lost cause. Ichiro, Blalock, and Soriano each reached double figures in hits over the six game series... Mike Piazza, in limited action, went 9-17 with 2 doubles and 2 HRs.... There was a big difference in the pitching, largely because of the games 1 and 2 blowouts, but even Carlos Zambrano and Javier Vazquez weren't that sharp.... 8 Rosehaven errors lead to 6 unearned Rio Salado runs.
