Game 3 Washington at Seoul
Josh Beckett vs Roy Oswalt

Roy Oswalt broke the Greys 10 game winning streak and set a record with 5 wins in one postseason. He was staked to a 3 run lead in the first on Travis Hafner's three run shot. Washington came back with single runs in the 2nd and 3rd to narrow the lead to 1. McCann finally tied it with a solo homer in the 6th. But, in the bottom of the 6th, Seoul got their first two on to bring up Hafner, and Washington went to Eric Milton. He walked to load the bases, and Washington brought in Charlie Haeger. Posada struck out, but Greg Norton singled home two for a 5-3 lead. The Seoul bullpen sailed through the 7th and 8th, and Billy Wagner came on with one out in the ninth. Two pinchhits and a pinch walk and the bases were loaded for Berkman. Grounder to short, but Berkman beat the relay, keeping the game alive, only for Bay to strike out to end it.

Greg Norton tied it in the 4th on an RBI double, chasing Hafner home from first; then Omar Vizquel's RBI single gave the Fighter a 3-2 lead in the 6th. That lead didn't last long, as McCann homered off Rincon to start the 7th. Next run wins. Bottom of the ninth, Jason Michaels singles with one out, steals second, and scores on a single by Mark Ellis. Series is toed at 2.

Game 5 Washington at Seoul
John Lackey vs Dan Haren

Tied 2-2, game 5 was the best game of the series. Dan Haren plowed through the tough Washington lineup, while Lackey matched the zeroes, twice getting Melky Cabrera with two on and two outs. Lackey loaded the bases with one out in the 6th, but he got Michaels on strikes and Lackey gave way to Haegar, who got Vizquel to end the inning. Meanwhile, Haren had a no-hitter going, and had retired 21 in a row between the 2nd and the 9th.  In still a scoreless game, Chris Coste came up as a pinchhitter in the 9th and singled to break up the no-no. Berkman flied out, bringing up Beltran. On his 7th pitch he homered to right center and the shutout was history, and so was the game after Shields threw a 1-2-3 ninth for the Gray's save.

Game 6 Seoul at Washington
Roy Oswalt vs Hector Carrasco

iSeoul went to Oswalt on three days rest, and he ran into deep trouble in the third, but it was caused by the defense. Todd Walker' and Miguel Cabrera committed errors early in the inning, then there was a walk and wild pitch for the second run. An infield out made it 3-0 with two outs, then Oswalt walked Reyes to get to Ensberg. Ensberg doubled a run home, then Mike Lamb singled in 2 more and it was 6-0. Seoul got half of them back quickly after surprise starter Mark Sweeney homered in the 4th. Washington got an insurance run they'd need in the 5th, because Hafner, Norton, and Hafner again homered in consecutive innings, cutting the margin to 7-6. With one out in the 9th Walker singled, bringing up Melky Cabrera. Washinton turned the double play, giving them the first world series flag in their history.

MVP: Brian McCann had 8 RBIs to Carlos Beltran's 5, with essentially similar stats, but Beltran's home run in the 9th inning of game 5 was the defining moment in the series. Austin Kearns had a nice series as well. On the Seoul side, Travis Hafner was the big gun, with 4 HRs and 8 RBIs, trying single-handedly to rescue game 6. The Grays also got some good relief work from Charlie Haegar and Chris Sampson, who combined with Reyes and Shields on 12 shutout innings. The Seoul bullpen wasn't bad either, aside from the blowup in game 2.
