League History

Founded on CompuServe in 1991 with owners from around the planet, the International Internet Baseball League is a 24-team replay league using Diamond Mind Baseball simulation software. Teams sign 12-18 players each season as keepers and fill the remaining slots on their 35-man rosters in the IIBL annual player draft. Every team has a rookie/first round pick to get a shot at the hottest young stars emerging in the big leagues, then continues its draft in the round determined by its number of signed players.

The IIBL began as a 20-team league in 1991. It expanded to 24 teams in 1998 through an expansion draft. It expanded to 26 teams in 2000 through an expansion draft, then it contracted to 24 teams for 2010.
